Kentucky Education Network (KEN)

IT Coordination Committee (ITCC)

Networked Applications Questionnaire

February, 2007

Purpose:  This survey is to prioritize information received from the education community on Internet-based applications to inform recommendations on the assessment, planning, and funding requests that the KEN IT Coordination Committee will make. Your input is essential for charting the roadmap to further the Kentucky Education Network.

Kentucky Education Network (http://ken.ky.gov): Funded by the legislature for 2006-08, KEN is to develop a seamless education-centric network that will grow and scale to meet new, increasing, and unforeseen needs to support equitable lifelong learning for all Kentuckians; to break down the physical and political barriers between secondary and postsecondary education; and, to share learning content and resources throughout P-21, both virtual and physical.

KEN IT Coordination Committee: The KEN Executive Committee, composed of the Secretary of Education Cabinet, the President of the Council on Postsecondary Education, the Commissioner of the Department of Education, the Secretary of Finance Cabinet, and the Executive Director of the Education Professional Standards Board, has charged ITCC with coordinating and communicating all activities relating to KEN.

Instructions:  Please review the list of those applications nominated by the January survey participants as those which they don’t have, but would like to have.  This list has been screened by the Applications Subcommittee, and those applications which are already planned or which may be duplicated have been removed.  In order to rank the significance of items in this comprehensive list, we are requesting that you review the items and vote for your top 5 priorities.

Thank you for your participation in this important project.
